Software Test Engineer
At CPAC Systems, testing is more than just a desk job. You help ensure seamless software solutions from cloud to cab and see the results of your work in real machines, every day.
If you want to ensure that advanced software solutions work seamlessly – from cloud to cab – and see your testing make an impact in real machines, this could be your next step. We’re looking for a Software Test Engineer who brings a strong quality mindset and a genuine interest in how users experience our products in everyday operation.
At CPAC Systems, we believe that different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences are what drive innovation. When you collaborate closely with developers, testers and customers, you help us deliver robust, reliable solutions that truly make a difference.
About us
CPAC Systems develops advanced control systems for marine and industrial applications. Since 1999, we’ve been turning complex operations into intuitive experiences. With 250 employees, a portfolio of 80 patents and more than 500,000 delivered products per year, we drive innovation in everything from electrification to intelligent automation, always working at the intersection of safety, efficiency and user experience. As part of Volvo Group, our role is to lead advanced technology development and explore the next generation of smart control systems.
Your role
As a Software Test Engineer you will play a key role throughout the product lifecycle – from early concept to deployment in real-world environments. You will work in a product-driven organization where quality and user experience are central, and where testing is an integrated part of development, not a final checkpoint.
Our team develops in-vehicle Android applications together with cloud services running on Azure. Your responsibility is to ensure smooth integration and reliable operation across these environments. This means testing everything from automated test benches and CI pipelines to machines in operation, such as excavators, wheel loaders and haulers.
You will collaborate closely with both developers and customers, contributing with a strong test perspective that helps shape both features and system behavior.
What you will do:
• Analyze and validate requirements to ensure testability and quality
• Design, implement and maintain test cases for new and existing functionality
• Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts
• Continuously improve test strategies, tools and processes together with the team
• Contribute to a strong quality culture across development projects
Key qualifications
• Educational background in software engineering, electronics, or equivalent
• 2-5 years experience with test automation and structured test design
• Proficiency in Python and Pytest
• Experience working with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools
• Fluency in Swedish and English, written and spoken
It’s a plus if you also bring
Familiarity with Appium for UI and system testing
Experience with Android-based systems
Who you are
You are passionate about quality and testing, and you naturally put yourself in the end-user’s shoes. You enjoy understanding how complex systems behave in real life and value identifying potential problems early, before they reach the customer. You are comfortable working across disciplines, communicating clearly with developers and stakeholders, and you enjoy taking responsibility.
You are a team player who enjoys close collaboration, while also being comfortable driving your own work forward. You appreciate freedom with responsibility and take ownership of your tasks and deliveries. With a curious mindset and a structured way of working, you help turn advanced technology into reliable, user-friendly solutions.
